Claims Management
JCAD LACHS - Additional Modules
Customer demand has lead to the development of several additional sub-applications:
● Triangulation and Fund Modelling
● Gazetteer and GIS Integration
● LACHSweb
Asset Register
JCAD LACHS, through the Asset Register module, allows your organisation to manage assets and associated claims and risks in terms of properties, contents and motor vehicles. The module enables you to record key information against each asset so that premium information can be calculated and levels of risk ascertained.
The Asset Register integrates directly into your claims database - no need to re-key information. Using the same workflow features of JCAD LACHS (actions, documents, emails) a full historic audit is retained with each record.
Additionally, annual procedures permit the transfer of assets between
policy years for annual premium renewal calculations and sum insured
inflation.
● Integration with the claims database and associated modules
● Premium calculations and renewals
● Pro-rata premium calculation for properties
● Premium Breakdown calculations
● Extensive workflow capabilities
● Historic premium audit
MPR (multiple premium rate) Enhancement to Asset Register
This module has been developed so that greater benefit can be derived from your existing investment in the LACHS Property Asset Register. It quickly enables you to assign multiple rates to a single property so that the breakdown can be provided to your leaseholders and commercial clients.
• Set up an unlimited number of rates
• Assign up to ten rates per property
• Provide premium rate breakdowns to your clients
• Analyse premium amounts across different areas of peril
Premium Apportionment
This module provides an easy to use and fast method of apportioning
premiums accurately and equitably across an organisation. Over a period of time claim histories can play a more significant factor in ensuring that departments with adverse claims experience pay a greater proportion of the premium / funding. Not only is this potentially fairer it also promotes the need for good risk management.
● Integration into policies, claims and assets
● Dynamic real-time modelling processes
● Departmental allocation reports
● Full apportionment histories are maintained
Triangulation and Fund Modelling
In addition to providing triangulation and funding projection information,
this module is also capable of analysing claim costs by range. In this
way it forecasts the most economic combination of policy premium and
policy excess level based on historical trends and claims experience.
The benefit of this forecast is that it can help in reducing premiums by
identifying the most appropriate excess levels in different 'what-if' scenarios. It can also aid the substantiation of actuarial reports.
● Automatically derived triangulations
● Financial models for IBNR calculations
● Modelling of likely claims experience
● Modelling optimum excess levels
EDI – Electronic Data Interchange
Claims are often processed by insurers or brokers on behalf of an
organisation. In some circumstances claims are paid directly through an
imprest account. In order to ensure that claim status and financial position is kept up-todate and accurate, the claim data is usually passed back to the client and entered manually. This can be a time consuming process which can be streamlined through the use of the EDI procedures.
This allows your organisation to upload extract files provided by the
insurer/broker directly into JCAD LACHS. This ensures integrity and
accuracy of financial data.
● Increased productivity
● Ensures data integrity
● Up-to-date financial position is maintained
● Reduced data entry
● Procedures in place with Zurich Municipal, Gallagher Basset, Cunningham
Lindsey, AON and also has a generic file format for other providers to use.
Gazetteer and GIS Integration
This module links directly with an organisation's property gazetteer database assisting the claims handler in the search for and access of address information. As well as saving claim handlers time, such facilities ensure accuracy and consistency in the inputting of address information to JCAD LACHS.
Data can be integrated into GIS applications and claims information plotted geographically providing rich, thematic maps of claim clusters and hotspots.
● Easy to use search facilities
● Ensures accurate address information
● Reduces data entry
● Can by used with GIS applications
● Interfaces with many existing gazetteer databases
● Allows for claim cluster and hotspot mapping
Claims submission by internal and external stakeholders substantially
reduces the workload of the central claims department and speeds up the
claims handling process. Moreover, providing stakeholders with claim status information and reporting facilities will reduce the amount of time that the central insurance department spends responding to data and report requests. The system therefore provides a self service approach to claims enquiry resulting in the end user being more connected to the insurance claim process.
● Reduced data entry for claims department (no double entry)
● Secure access
● Ensures completeness and immediacy of data capture
● Allows self service of claim enquiry
● Accessible to both internal and external stakeholders
Synergy between claims reporting and Health and Safety Incident reporting is
close. As such our existing JCAD LACHS users are able to take advantage of their investment and access the same powerful suite of tools for Health and Safety purposes. Submission of Health and Safety incidents via the web ensures that information is logged immediately with the central Health and Safety department.
This module ensures that all standard reporting requirements are met
including trend analysis and 2508 forms. JCAD LACHS provides a central
reservoir of insurance claims, insurance incidents (near misses) and
health and safety incidents so that analysis can be performed across all
these areas either singularly or as a whole.
● Cost effective add-on
● Central store of all Health and Safety incidents
● No duplication of data entry
● Standard reports including trend analysis and reporting of
incidents
● Simple submissions of 2508 forms
● Analysis of claims, incidents (near-misses) and Health and
Safety incident from a single source
