Autumn 2011

Well summer shot by, so fast in fact that you probably missed the summer newsletter altogether.

Financial woes continue to beset us with the UK and the rest of the world still seemingly locked in a never ending economic mess. W Whatever next? Eurosceptic David Cameron arguing against a referendum, United losing to
City? The world's gone mad.

Some good news though is that in a recent ICD research paper 63% of senior management respondents were optimistic about revenue growth in 2012. This is borne out by ourselves as despite the recession JCAD continue to grow and we are pleased to advise that we have secured a number of new clients over the summer months.

New Clients

Segro PLC - RISK

Sodexo Limited - RISK

Amicus Horizon - RISK

Shropshire County Council - LACHS

Finally. we expect to be producing our 2011 client survey very soon and I would ask that all our clients spend a few minutes completing this. Your input is extremely valuable as it is this feedback that drives our development processes and if you don't participate then we'll never know what you want!

As a number of our clients and prospects know we have a presence on LinkedIn. This is the largest business network in the world and I must admit that it can be extremely useful. We have recently started a number of JCAD specific groups, one for RISK and one for LACHS.

Although we now have a number of members on each group I would very much like to extend this to as many users as possible as it offers a great way for communication between us. For instance, interesting discussions, feature requests, advise, best practice exchange etc. I would strongly urge you to sign up!

Due to this new method of communication we will be removing the JCAD Forum from our website over the month or so.

Risk Management Awards 2011

JCAD will be attending the above awards ceremony on the 16 November at the London Lancaster Hotel. Our RISK application has been shortlisted again based upon our submission discussing our joint work with LB of Lambeth to develop the Audit Tracking functionality within the JCAD ACTIONtracker tool.

Last year we were runners up, receiving a Highly Commended in the 'Best Software' category. Let's hope we can go one step further this year. I will let you know.

Sporting Achievements

Tim and John have continued to do well on the triathlon circuit completing the Windsor Triathlon in June and the Alpe d'Huez Triatlon in August. John was the second oldest competitor at Windsor, with 'Ole Jim' at 75 taking the crown for oldest.

Scorpians U'9's

As some of you know JCAD sponsor my sons' football team, West Byfleet Scorpians. The picture below is of some of them receiving their awards at a tournament last year.

The Under 9's B squad, started the new season in mid September and won 5 - 0 at Horsley FC. We have since played 4 more games and are now 6th in the league (Epsom & Ewell) having won 3 and lost 2.The weekend of the 15th October we were away at Brockham Badgers who had, until that point, not been beaten. I am pleased to say that after 40 minutes it was 2 - 1 to the Scorpians which was a terrific result.

We have a few weeks off until the next game on the 12th November. I'll let you know how we get on.
