Newsletter Summer 2008

Hello

The season of beer, barbeque's and sunburn seems to be passing in a grey drizzle. On a positive note it also heralded the ALARM conference.

This was again an excellent event and superbly organised by Keith, Julie and all at ALARM. It was great to see so many of our clients and prospects and thanks to all of you who came along to our stand.

It was also extremely gratifying to see so many of our clients being recognised for their great work in risk management. A 'roll of honour' is detailed below. JCAD will of course be exhibiting at next years event in Bournemouth so we look forward to seeing you there.

Another thanks goes to three of our clients, Camden, Newport and Sheffield who very kindly hosted what were very successful LACHS User Groups. These meetings were a great opportunity for us to meet with our clients, demonstrate new versions and products and gain your feedback.

I am also pleased to advice that our last ISO 9001:2000 audit by LRQA (Lloyds Register Quality Assurance) gave us an excellent rating.

Thanks

Phil Walden

OTHER CONTRACT AWARDS

The London Authorities Mutual Limited have awarded JCAD with the contract to provide an online Property Self Assessment Risk Module for use by all LAML members.

VERSION 4 UPDATE

We are now in the final stages of testing this new version and are hopeful of a release in early September. This being the case then we would expect the first round of migrations to start mid to late September.

LACHSWeb

We would also hope that the new associated module, LACHSWeb would be available shortly after this.

For those of you unaware of this new module, it is aimed at providing a 'self service' offering for claim submission and enquiry. In this way it reduces the workload of the central insurance unit and streamlines the entire claim submission process.

An example of it's use would be a Highways Department

submitting online claim forms for subsequent approval or rejection by the central unit.

The Highways Department can then also view information online regarding the progress of the claim without referral to the insurance team.

LACHS Health & Safety

JCAD are also in throes of finalising the development of the new Health & Safety Module. This will go live at a customer site in late September for testing and will then be more generally available.

If you would like more information on either of these new modules please get in contact.

GENERAL NEWS

You may recall from the last newsletter that John was undertaking the London to Paris Cycle. I'm delighted to say that John finished this along with his fellow riders in great style being escorted the last 20 miles through Paris by motorcycle police and cheered by the local populace.

John also raised over £1700 for charity.

For my sins I failed to race in the 5K but I did sponsor John and I made up for it in the gym.

CASE STUDY REQUEST

I'm still looking for case studies and the offer of £50 vouchers still stands.

Thanks to Joachim Adenusi from Essex who very kindly supplied an interesting piece regarding their success at the European Risk Awards earlier in the year. This can be downloaded here. Essex Case Study

Joachim's £50 went to the Chafford Hundred Community Church in Grays, Essex.
