Newsletter - Summer '09
Anywhere nice for the summer?
Hello
Seems we got ‘jipped’ again with the long range forecast; only BBQ weather if you’re a duck. Still, we’ll probably now be told it’ll be an Indian summer, so that’ll be something to look forward to.
The summer months have been busy for JCAD with the final development push to complete RISK Version 3. We are now hopeful that this will be released by mid August at the latest. This version incorporates some major changes, not least the fact that it is now a totally web based application!
It was also great to see so many of our clients at this year's ALARM in Bournemouth. Everyone appeared to have a great time and found the workshops extremely useful. My congratulations to Mark Nutter from Bolton and Julie Hosking from Plymouth who won the JCAD Prize Draw, an IPOD shuffle each.
Anyone visiting our stand would have noticed that we have undertaken a refresh of our corporate look. This is reflected in our new literature and brochures as well as this website. We hope you agree that the site is far easier to navigate around and I would encourage you all to contribute to the forum so that it can become a valuable resource for us all.
Thanks
Phil Walden

Case Studies
I am pleased to advise that we now also have two new case studies. One for LACHS, courtesy of May Gurney and one for RISK, courtesy of London Borough of Ealing. In fact regarding Ealing I would also like to congratulate Naresh on his Young Achiever Award at the Strategic Risk Awards in Berlin earlier in the year and a similar commendation at the ALARM Conference.
These case studies can be downloaded from our website.
ALARM Survey Results
Those of you that entered the prize draw, of which there were over 60, also completed a short survey the results of which are shown below. Results were as we expected with ease of use, ease of deployment and functionality being the most important areas. Interestingly, price was the least important factor when determining which system to procure.
