Newsletter Summer 2007

The 3 months since the last newsletter have seen JCAD extremely busy with the successful delivery of RISK V1.9 as well as a very positive and informative Risk User Group. By the way if you haven't yet upgraded please do so as there are a number of great new features!!

We also attended the ALARM 2007 conference in Cardiff and it was great to see so many of our customers and receive such positive feedback from you all. I'm now really looking forward to Birmingham in 2008.

I am also pleased to announce that London Borough of Croydon have donated their £50 award for a case study to the Croydon Mayors charity. Any other success stories please let me know!!

Thanks

CONGRATULATIONS TO

Malcolm Davies and Sarah Poon at LB of Croydon on their ALARM 2007 award for

'Strategic Risk Management'

DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

At the Risk User Group and ALARM we demonstrated a number of potential new features for both LACHS and RISK. For those of you unable to attend either of these events, here is a brief summary.

JCAD RISK

Version 1.9 of JCAD RISK, a free in version upgrade was released in May and includes:

   . Enhancements to User Security

. Additional features to JCAD RISKweb

              including: Full diary facilities

                             Simpler data-entry

Version 2 is under development and is scheduled for release early in 2008 and will include:

. Management Dashboards (click for .pdf example)

    . Associated Risks

    . Shared Controls

    . Cost of Risk identification

. Project Risk enhancements including Risk Proximity

JCAD LACHS

Version 4 of JCAD LACHS is under development and is scheduled for release in the 1st quarter of 2008. Features include:

. Web enabled claim submission forms

. Web access to claims data

    . Improved Policy Administration

    . Expanded custom fields

    . Enhanced workflow facilities

    . and much more....

Version 4 is a major release that will ensure that the system meets future standards such as e-gif and interfaces with the latest technologies and platforms.

This will be a chargeable upgrade with a 30% increase in annual maintenance plus approximately two days consultancy for data migration, set-up and training.

PARTNER ACCESS WITHIN JCAD RISK

We have been asked by a number of clients how to enable partner access to risks within JCAD RISK. This ability of course requires the addition of the Web version if you don't already have it and once implemented there is a sliding scale of costs for providing external partner access.

1 - 5 partners = £500 p.a.

6 - 15 partners = £1000 p.a.

16 partners + = £2000 p.a.

If you wish to take advantage of this or have further questions please get in contact.

NEW CUSTOMER FORUM!!

In order to facilitate greater sharing of information and best practice exchange JCAD will be providing an online forum for all our customers to access.

We would like this resource to make everyones lives easier with advice being shared on implementation, organisational change, training etc.

JCAD will also be posting up FAQ's and technical resource as a first port of call for any issues/problems that might arise.

GENERAL NEWS

Retirement

As many of you will know Alan Purkiss retired at the end of April this year. He and John were founding partners of JCAD and Alan was instrumental in making the company what is is today.

We wish him all the best in his retirement and are sure he'll enjoy spending more time on his boat.

London Marathon

Despite extreme conditions Adrian completed the London marathon in a time of 4 hours and 31 minutes beating Haile Gebrselassie (winner of last years Berlin Marathon). In the process of this amazing feat Adrian also raised £1300 for the 'Back Care' charity.

Other sporting events

Congratulations also to...

John for the British Coast to Coast walk

Damian and Adrian for the South Downs and Neolithic Marathons

Gavin for the Pennine 100 Ultra Marathon

Phil for 6 goals in a recent 5 a-side tournament

And Tim for teaching Ashtanga Yoga to packed audiences in Rake, Hants.

TRAINING

We have been asked by a number of clients to organise regional training sessions. The idea would be to have representatives from 3 - 5 authorities within a particular region to meet to cover a number of agreed specific topics. In essence a good forum for best practice to be shared both in terms of risk/claims management and in use of the JCAD applications. The cost would be approximately £200 per delegate including refreshments.

Before we start to organise such events we would like to get a feel for the level of interest. So, if this sounds like something that you think would be worthwhile please let us know.

CASE STUDY REQUEST

If you are willing to share your successful use of JCAD solutions then any case study published by us will result in your department receiving either an Amazon voucher worth £50.00 or £50.00 donated to the charity of your choice.

You’ll find a form below in the format that we need. If you’d like to take part then simply fill this in and email it off to me at Phil@jcad.com.  If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks and good luck!
